Phenomenological study of charm photoproduction at HERA
We present predictions for single inclusive distributions of charmed mesons, relevant to the HERA experiments. Our results are based upon a computation that correctly incorporates mass effects up to the next-to-leading order level, and the resummation of transverse momentum logarithms up to next-to-leading-logarithmic level. We apply the same acceptance cuts as the H1 and Zeus experiments, and ...
متن کاملDiffractive charm photoproduction at HERA ep - collider
The cross section of the D *-meson diffractive photoproduction at the HERA collider has been calculated in the framework of perturbatively motivated model for the different kine-matic regions. The camparison between the different Pomeron models has been performed.
متن کاملMUON PAIR PHOTOPRODUCTION AT 20.5 GeV
We have studied the production of muon pairs with invariant masses from 1 to 4 GeV by 20.5 GeV bremsstrahlung radiation. The invariant mass distribution has' a large deviation from the expected Bethe-Heitler shape which we attribute to the Q(3.1 GeV). We determine the $(3.1 GeV) photoproduction cross section to be 1 3.7 + 2.2 1.5 nb at an average photon energy of.18 GeV. (Submitted to Physics L...
متن کاملSubthreshold photoproduction of charm
Charm photoproduction rates off nuclei below the nucleon threshold are estimated using the phenomenologically known structure functions both for x < 1 and x > 1. The rates rapidly fall below the threshold from values ∼10 pb for Pb close to the threshold (at 7.5 GeV) to ∼1pb at 6 GeV.
متن کاملCharm Photoproduction via Fragmentation
The next-to-leading open charm production in γp collisions is calculated within the Perturbative Fragmentation Functions formalism, to allow resummation of αs log(p 2 T /m 2) terms. In the large pT region (pT > m) the result is consistent with the fixed order NLO calculation, small discrepancies being found for very large pT and at the edge of phase space. The two approaches differ in the defin...
